The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by providing them with home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals. They have also recently expanded the focus of their #FeedTheSoul initiative, which involves producing community efforts, creating affinity spaces, and providing mental health resources to the Black Trans community.

How You Can Support
Based on individual donations, The Okra Project pays Black Trans chefs to go into the homes of Black Trans people to cook them a healthy and home-cooked meal. One session (including chef pay & groceries) costs The Okra Project $90. Hu will be donating 10% of all online proceeds through Monday, 8/31 to support these efforts.
